Seaport Woodworks is family owned and operated business. We are located in Fort Point Channel in Boston's historic Seaport. We chose this location because of its accessibility and revitalization.
Fort Point Channel is an industrial area dominated by warehouses and factories. For years artists have gravitated to the area because of its open loft spaces and close proximity to the city proper. With the completion of the Big Dig and a new convention center the area has now become a massive epicenter of growth. Old warehouses once used for imports and exports are now being refurbished into residential and commercial loft spaces to accommodate the demand for space in the now burgeoning seaport area.
The majority of buildings located in Fort Point Channel are turn of the century brick construction with old timber beams. During the reconstruction and modernization of these warehouses most of the original woodwork has been preserved because of it’s unique character. It is this appreciation and demand for old wood that is the wellspring of Seaport Woodworks.
Our wood comes from demolished barns located in the Amish region of Pennsylvania. The wood is of the highest quality and has the character of an era long remembered for its dependability and charm, and because of our commitment to using old wood we are environmentally friendly.
“If you can dream it we can build it.” We are in business to provide our customers with not just furniture but options, because not everybody has the same space. Usually, custom furniture coincides with the term “cost prohibitive.” However Seaport woodworks is an innovative company that can provide custom work at unbelievable prices.
